Jay's New
Boat - in HD!!
Columbus Day Weekend,
2009.
Rather than brave
the cold and rainy weather in my pop-up camper this Columbus Day weekend,
I found a more creative way to guarantee I'd be taking mucinex this Tuesday
morning.
I'll recap in reverse.
Monday was our final Fall-Ball softball game. 5 people showed up from
the other team. We played 7-on-7 with an all-time pitcher, and a umpire/catcher.
It was wet. It was cold. It was NOT picture worthy.
Sunday, I braved 38
degree temperatures as I tailgated with Cleveland Browns fans as frustrated
and embarassed to be wearing jerseys as the rest of us local Bills fans.
It was oddly comforting how we shared a bond of sympathy for the other
as we peacefully coincided through our various taligate rituals.
At one point, some
Bills fans challenged the Cleveland group to a game of flip cup. Even
here there was more patriotism and competitive nature when they intermingled
to represent their sex in a "guys" vs "girls" match,
than when they played to represent their NFL team. Painfully sad.
And Saturday, rather
that camp in the cold, I found it more favorable to go fishing on a wind-beaten
Niagara River. In shorts. Genius.
But I did get to use
my 2010 DEC Fishing License by catching ZERO fish, and I was able to try
out my new Sanyo XACTI FH1 HD camera/camcorder, with the satisfying results
